This module will give students a background in forensic ballistics, including the investigation of shooting scenes, firearms law and wound ballistics.

On successfully completing the module students will be able to:
1. Demonstrate mathematical ability in ballistics-related calculations outside the context in which they were first studied.
2. Demonstrate knowledge and critical understanding of how firearms operate.
3. Demonstrate knowledge and critical understanding in the forensic analysis of cartridge cases and bullets.
4. Demonstrate a knowledge and critical understanding of shooting scene reconstruction and the limitations of ballistic investigations.
5. Demonstrate a knowledge and critical understanding of wound ballistics.
6. Demonstrate a knowledge and critical understanding of UK firearms law.
7. Show a consideration of how to take a multidisciplinary approach to ballistic analysis and investigation.
